Last of the gatherings last night, walked all three dogs over there, funny how even though I dress like I live in Michigan, everything is outside with a fire here. Which I am totally good with. Caught my watch at 13,000 even the first time I crawled into bed. Did what I could estimating food. I did eat beforehand, didn't need another drunk on an empty stomach with three dogs wandering the neighborhood lost in the middle of the night. Kept it to two - one apple cider thing I think had spiced rum in it and a small glass of mulled wine. It was a fun. More of a stopover than a party but we got a different bunch of lights on the way home.

Everything down from yesterday. Got a lot done at the homefront, too. We're doing no TV until nightfall this weekend. One of the things I enjoy from my walks this time of year is the Christmas trees in the windows. Not in a voyeuristic way, but they're just sweet. I don't take pictures of them because I think that crosses the line into creepy. I'll keep my creepiness to myself, thank you. I changed my LED lights up to a Christmas configuration last night. Red and white alternating. I like it. Funny observation is just how many people with fireplaces, like me, put on the video version of a crackling fire on the TV and sit down and watch it. I love it. It's what I'm watching at my desk most days, too. Something very calming about that noise whether it gives off heat or not.

Some more lights. Almost done, I have some good ones for tomorrow.

Edit: and of course I forgot to log my weight, but it will erase this if I enter it so nope. Weekend rules, stuff to do, enjoy the day.

I do miss my fireplace. We used to all lie on the floor in front of the fire with pillows and Afghans on those cold grey weekends, watching the fire and just hanging out. If the doorbell rang, we'd jump up, throw the pillows and Afghans in the hall closet and sit on the sofa and chairs like civilized people.
