Time to quit wallowing pick up the pieces and take my life back. I don't know why I become so non-functional with my mom around. She doesn't sabotage, but I revert into a sullen teenager and refuse to engage. It's not her fault, it lies solely with me. Oddly enough, in my three months off, I didn't eat that poorly overall, but I did not exercise worth a darn. That is much more important than I knew, I guess. This is my first "real" day completely alone and back to what I consider to be normal. As normal as it can be given that I still have to deal with my dad's estate stuff and work and that whole real life thing. One day at a time, press on, press on... this too shall pass and I will rediscover the joy in living a life well-lived. Cliches are funny, tossed at you by others they can be annoying and sometimes counter-productive, but they can make great little mantras if you give them your own spin.
Today I log the food that goes into my mouth with renewed enthusiasm!!! I'm hoping the immediate carb vacuum will result in a quick drop! Thank goodness I stayed away from sugar overall even though there was bread in the house. A detox would not be fun.
