Tonight is the first neighborhood Walkabout in more than two years. Kinda excited. Some of my favorite businesses are gone now, but will be good to explore and see what else is out there. we're lucky in that there are not a lot of empty storefronts. I think I'm sitting outside journaling for the first time since I got chance. It was rainy, it was hot, it was just not normal for awhile. I don't know that we're ever going to be normal again as a society until this fades out of our collective memory in a decade or so. My purple lights arrived. They are purple and orange, but that's fine, I guess.

We walked 3.6 miles last night. Sadie is still keeping up. I'm glad. I'm trying to take different routes so that Chance gets used to things like trucks, bars, people, etc. so far, he's mostly calm although the one thing that freaked him out was a garden sculpture of two small children sitting on a mushroom reading. he growled and was very nervous and scared. go figure. no coyotes so far. I haven't seen any since May, I think. the pups should be fairly mature at this point, so I'm surprised. I missed a lot of life the past few months without realizing it. even during most of the plague I was out and walking.

I like to walk by this house at night because they have wonderful plants and lights. Their son has cerebral palsy, but they still manage to make themselves a huge positive force in the neighborhood. They have this gorgeous display and change the poem often. some resonate, some don't. This one did. Two pics. the first to share the gorgeous visual, the second to share the words. I also love these tiny coppery hummingbirds.

numbers. blob sneaking up, but slowly. muscle holding, water up. time to get my act together. back to cooking, back to salads and fruits and veggies. I can do my own shopping again. no regrets, I did what I needed to do. now, I'm trying to find the joy in each day again. we'll get there.
