This is so true, I had “weight” loss when I was only dieting, but only started seeing good results when I added resistance training to the deficit.

yep, you got to do a little bit of everything to get results. common sense...get the cardio going, work on core, some weights , get it all done..

My body changes are crazy... all from lifting every day. And nice to know I could do it as little as three times a week (but what's fun about that). 💪🏻😍🔥 I'm allowed to give myself heart eyes.

Thank you for the information. It confirmed that at least two thirds of my program has been tested with positive results. I also do cardio 5 days a week.

Thank you for this. In the past all I would have gotten from this was to only eat 800 calories a day🤣🤣. So thankful to have educated myself 😁. As always, great post!

Vcabral- that is crazy though- to think that you could eat as low as 800 calories and not lose muscle... Nice to eat 2000 though. :)

Once I get near 10% body mass/percentage BF if I go below 2000k I start to lose lean muscle and my WOs suffer. I couldn't imagine going as low as 800 cal a day. However, it is interesting seeing the comparison between cardio, weight training and doing nothing.

DP and Adamevegod, these people are guaranteed noobies to lifting. Anyone with a good amount of muscle would lose some at that low of an intake. Untrained individuals can look at a weight and gain muscle. 😁

I did more than look at a weight and gained only 1.5# of muscle over 6 months lol. But I think I’m an oddity because of my previous treatments, osteopenia and no hormones. 🤷♀️

I wouldn't say you're a beginner at all, peeper. You've posted some impressive pics and you just said you deadlifted 180 pounds. It comes slow for everyone eventually.

My transformation post, the first 3 months had zero resistance training, eating very low calories and 2hrs of cardio, I got smaller but my body didn’t look good naked.

The calculator I found says I’m a novice (several months training). 🤷♀️ Keep in mine my deadlift was for like 3-4 reps each set. Bought some new gloves so maybe this week I can do more. My hands kept slipping with my old gloves.

@Diablo - i am glad you added the comment about the folks in this study being "noobies" - thinking about 800 cals / day and doing my workouts - would be worthless. and while i don't have the mass and definition as you - i would certanly lose what I have to some extent unless those 800 cals (all liquid no less?) be protein shakes. interesting topic. all that being said - without a doubt, i think resistance training is a must on one's dieting journey or for health and longevity - one day a week or 3 days a week - whatever works. all appropriately done, of course. thanks for the post!
